January 22nd, 2010

FBW_2009_005_-_staffordshire_oatcakesThis upcoming week is the 11th Farmouse Breakfast Week!  Find out how the most important meal of the day could benefit you, during Farmhouse Breakfast Week 2010 (24 – 30 January).

It is said that organisations, businesses, schools and foodservice outlets across the country will be celebrating the campaign, now in its eleventh year, with hundreds of events of all sizes expected to take place!

Apparently during the week itself, people of all ages will join in the campaign to promote, and enjoy the many ‘Breakfast Benefits’ on offer. From taste tests and cook-offs to competitions and special offers, organiser HGCA is encouraging everyone to reap the benefits of breakfast – not just in January, but throughout the year!

The organisers say The British really do excel at breakfast, with a rich regional diversity of recipes throughout Britain. From English crumpets and Northern Irish soda bread, Lincolnshire-style sausages and Suffolk Fraze to Scottish porridge and Welsh bara brith – the choice is endless! This year’s Farmhouse Breakfast Week recipe booklet is packed full of delicious recipe ideas to make sure you make the most of breakfast.
