CAMEL MILK IS THE NEW DESSERT LATTE

December 31st, 2009

Reported on Sky TV an hour ago, “Camel milk could soon be on supermarket shelves in Europe after a Dubai-based dairy applied for an export licence.”

We are told that camel milk is better for us because it is higher in vitamin C and lower in fat.

At the moment camels don’t produce enough milk to make dairy farming viable, however a dairy specialist has invested in cloning a camel in order to hybridise and make a higher milk yielding animal.

The cloned camel called Injaz and her decendants will be producing milk for straight consumption, but also for the already-popular camel chocolate.

The company commercialising camel milk is called Camelicious.

General manager Martin Van Almsick reckons once customers get over their initial reservations they are hooked after their first bite.

“What is inside the chocolate fulfils the promise. Everyone who has a chocolate in their mouth is able to tell,” he said.

“Camel milk has a slightly salty taste, we tried to preserve that special quality in the chocolate and everybody can tell.”
