TRACKLEMENTS LAUNCHES SEASONAL CHUTNEY
We’re reliably informed that Britain yields its harvest of pears during the Autumn and Winter months when they are at their sweetest. There are several British varieties, and the most bountiful is said to be the Conference pear, so named for the award it received at the 1885 International Pear Conference!
Tracklements – makers of speciality chutneys, mustards and relishes – have just launched a new Chutney based on the conference pear.
Made from pears mixed with a blend of well-chosen spices to balance the sweetness of the Muscovado sugar and dates, the punchy flavour brings out the very best in roast lamb, pork or ham.
The makers say “The chutney gives a real boost of flavour to any number of dishes. Try it spread on lightly toasted French bread, topped with goat’s cheese and then grilled until the cheese softens, melts and browns. Quite magnificent!”
They go on to add “Tracklements Pear Chutney also knows its place on the after dinner cheese board – right beside a pile of walnuts and the Roquefort, the Pecorino and a good strong Cheddar.”
