NATIONAL GAME WEEK 16TH – 21ST NOVEMBER
The Rattlebone Inn, Sherston is celebrating the best of British Game with a “Game Week” from 16 -21 November to coincide with National Taste of Game Week. The menu, developed by The Rattlebone’s team of talented chefs, is designed to showcase the best of country game.
Using only locally sourced meat, it will feature rustic favourites such as rabbit casserole as well as more unusual dishes such as Stalkers Pie.
Owner Jason Read comments: “We wanted to demonstrate how good game can taste and the chefs have researched old country recipes and experimented with ingredients to create the finest tasting dishes. We hope that this game menu will encourage diners to try things, they would not usually order.”
The popular 16th century village inn, is quickly gaining a reputation for having the best food and service in the area. Using only the best local and free range meats and ingredients, the specials boards changes regularly to reflect the seasons and there is a fixed priced menu at lunchtimes.

Seared Pigeon Breasts with Savoy Cabbage, Celeriac Puree and Wholegrain Mustard
Rabbit Casserole w/ Root Vegetables, Cider, Garlic and Sage
Pan Fried Breast of Guinea Fowl w/ Chestnut Stuffing, and a Red Wine and Balsamic Reduction
Local Venison Haunch Steak w/ Crushed Black Peppercorns, Whiskey and Cream
Roast Breast of Duck w/ Roast Butternut Squash and Coriander & Chilli Dressing
Roast Partridge w/ Smoked Bacon, Bread Sauce and Rich Game Gravy
