MORRISONS LAUNCHES PREMIUM CHOCOLATE BARS
With the dark nights drawing in and with the economy still in melt-down one retailer has decided that we all deserve a sweet treat. Retail giant Morrisons has discovered that, more than ever before, its shoppers are using chocolate as an affordable indulgence, both for themselves and to cheer up loved ones.
It reports that sales of chocolate have grown in the last two years despite the recession, and sales are continuing to rise in 2009 by up to 10% compared to 2008.
John Cannan, Product Development Manager at Morrisons said; “The combination of winter’s short days, colder weather and less money to spend on going out means people are looking for mini pleasures to have at home which don’t break the bank. The delightfully simple delicacy of chocolate is replacing more expensive treats, to yourself, friends and relatives, such as clothes shopping or eating out”.
Responding to this increased appetite for instant indulgence, Morrisons has launched a new range of own brand chocolate, aimed at pleasuring the most discerning of taste-buds and the smallest of pockets. Morrisons Best Chocolate is produced in Italy and features the following sumptuous selection:
Best Dark Chocolate: deliciously dark Chocolate made with 72% cocoa solids for a lingering & intense rich flavour
- Best Milk Chocolate: a smooth creamy milk chocolate made with 32% cocoa solids which melts in the mouth
- Best White Chocolate: This white chocolate is made with a blend of the best cocoa beans and Madagascan vanilla for a delicately rich creamy taste
- Best Milk Chocolate with Hazlenuts: roasted Hazelnuts combine perfectly with the best cocoa beans to ensure a creamy milk chocolate with a delicious nutty flavour
- Best Dark chocolate with Orange: real Italian orange peel with delicious fine dark chocolate giving a burst of zingy orange flavour to compliment the rich intense cocoa notes
