WORLD VEGAN DAY NOVEMBER 1ST
Mile High Drinks will be honouring World Vegan Day on November 1st 2009 by holding a competition throughout November to win a month’s supply of Mile High. The British company will hold the competition from 1st – 30th November 2009.
The world’s first Vegan Society was created on November 1st 1944 by vegan pioneer Donald Watson.
Mile High Drinks is a vegan-friendly drink that is free from artificial flavours, colours, preservatives and additives. It is a delicious and natural drink made from red grape, cherry, aloe vera and ginger.
Drinking just one 250ml bottle of Mile High (www.milehighdrinks.com) has been shown in a scientific study to provide the average daily recommended amount of antioxidants. Antioxidants naturally occur in exceptionally high levels in red grapes and cherries.
Stuart Roberts, naturopathic nutritionist, creator of Mile High and director of the company, said: “World Vegan Day will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all things vegan and Mile High Drinks is happy to promote the occasion. As a nutritionist I recognise the health benefits of adopting a vegan lifestyle. Vegans, in general, tend to appreciate the link between good health and nutrition and understand the need to maintain a high level of antioxidants through the consumption of fruits and vegetables to combat free radicals”.
Cherry and red grape Mile High is now available in 53 Waitrose stores nationwide includingJohn Lewis food halls in Bluewater and Oxford Street. It is also available via Ocado (www.ocado.co.uk).
