TRAIDCRAFT LAUNCHES SEVEN NEW CONFECTIONERY PROUDUCTS

The range includes favourites such as Vanilla Fudge, Yoghurt Raisins and classic Butter Mints alongside the six Fairtrade firsts: Milk Chocolate Beanies, Jelly Teddies, Fruit Jellies, Mint Imperials, Fruit Sherbets and Chocolate Coated Toffee Popcorn (sounds odd, tastes amazing!).

Fairtrade New ConfectioneryThe whole range benefits from new brightly coloured retro packaging featuring traditional sweet scoops as well as improved recipes and high quality fair trade ingredients. The snack packs come in a bright CDU making them stand out on the shelf.

Each variety features an interesting fact on the back of the pack such as ‘Did you know sugar is the only taste we crave from birth?’ and that ‘It takes a cocoa tree 5 years to produce its first pod’.

Traidcraft works with producers from across the developing world. Ehud Kafaukoma is a member of Kasinthula Cane Growers Ltd in Malawi. The Fairtrade premium on Kasinthula sugar has paid for an electricity supply to Ehud’s village. “It was something that nobody could even imagine.” he said.
