HARVEY’S PROMOTES SHERRY FOR CHRISTMAS

Harvey’s the sherry makers say that schooners are out, cocktails are in, and sherry is back en vogue. It is reported that with the style crowd leading the way, Harvey’s sherry is the new best kept secret of the fashionistas and the way to be seen drinking this quintessentially British classic is shaken up bartender-style!

To add a stylish twist to the festive season, Harveys has created three quick and simple cocktails for consumers to recreate for drinks soirées at home: Harveys & Lemonade aperitif Harveys Frosted Apple & Ginger, and Harveys Mulled Apple & Winter Spice.

Harveys & Lemonade
With the fashion world apparently setting the trend, Harveys & Lemonade is a refreshing aperitif for party guests to savour.

Harveys’ exclusive collaboration with fashion designers, PPQ, for London Fashion Week means celebs and fashionistas alike including, Alexa Chung, Nicola Roberts and Gemma Cairney have already been enjoying this signature serve. So Harvey’s says why not go ‘retro chic’ and give a tasty twist to Harveys® Bristol Cream® by adding lemonade and luscious fruits for a stylish and fashionable cocktail.

Recipe:
• Fill a high ball glass with ice, apple slices, orange segments and blueberries
• Pour over 50ml Harveys Bristol Cream
• Top up with good quality lemonade
• Stir generously and garnish with a twist of orange peel

For extra party pzazz, Harvey’s says why not indulge guests by serving this delicious cocktail in a large punchbowl full of crushed ice and mouth-watering fruits.

Harveys Frosted Apple & Ginger
Everyone loves the heady aromatic bouquets of wintertime, so spice up your seasonal drinks repertoire with this sensational mix of pressed apples, ginger and cinnamon.

Recipe:
• Fill a high ball glass with ice (crushed ice looks even better!)
• Pour over 50ml Harveys Bristol Cream and 50ml premium pressed apple juice
• Top up with a dash of ginger ale
• Swirl with a cinnamon stick and leave in the glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint and apple slices

Harveys Mulled Apple & Winter Spice
For a delicious winter warmer to sip around the log fire, Harveys Bristol Cream warmed in a pan with pressed apple juice, sliced apples, cloves, a cinnamon stick, vanilla sugar and decorated with fragrant star anise is guaranteed to take the chill off and leave your taste buds tingling. Serve this alternative Harveys mulled winter cocktail in a punch bowl or glass mug for a deliciously authentic festive flavour.

Recipe:
• Slowly warm 200ml of Harveys Bristol Cream with 500ml premium pressed apple juice, 6 cloves and 50ml vanilla sugar in a pan for 10-15 minutes to release the incredible flavours
• Strain the liquid into a warmed 2 pint/ 1 litre punch bowl
• Garnish with apple slices and serve in glass mugs decorated with star anise

Harveys Bristol Cream is made exclusively from grapes grown at Harveys’ own vineyards and blended in the traditional method at its bodegas in Jerez in southern Spain. Steeped in heritage, Harveys Bristol Cream sherry is made from a complex and aged blend of Fino, Amontillado, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez wines. It has a deep golden colour with fragrant aromas and tastes sensationally silky and smooth.
