GREEN HOP BEER LIMITED EDITION MORRISONS

October 15th, 2009

Following the success of last years seasonal Green Hop Beer, Morrisons is has told us that ‘Green Hop’ is now back in store for a limited period only.

Green Hop BeerThe range of exclusive, limited edition, seasonal beers developed in conjunction with the award winning Titanic Brewery has proved a great success, the culmination of which was, two of these beers, Chestnut and Green Hop, being shortlisted in the Quality Drinks Awards 2009, with Green Hop winning the ale category award and then also scooping the Platinum Q Award covering all categories.

The Green Hop is the first hop of the Autumn season which is combined with a high quality malt within 24 hours of being harvested to produce a unique and distinctive tasting beer that captures the essence of the autumnal season.

Constantly striving to expand their growing range of beers and ales, Morrisons and Titanic Breweries have worked together to produce this unique beer which is the first of it’s kind to be mixed with a malt so quickly after the crop has been harvested.

Graeme Littlewood, Bottled Ale Buyer, says “We initially introduced the seasonal range last year to offer our customers beers that are new and exciting but will also vary throughout the year. After the success of this range last year, and the endorsement of winning the Quality Drinks Awards, we are pleased to add the Green Hop to our shelves once more and are sure customers will enjoy reliving this unique experience.”

Morrisons and Titanic are currently working on another new and distinctive brew to go alongside Chestnut Beer in December, and already have plans for a delicious seasonal offering for Springtime next year.

Morrisons Green Hop Beer is available nationwide in all stores now at £1.25 for a 500ml bottle.

The Titanic Brewery is owned by Brothers Dave and Keith Bott who have overseen the steady rise in production. Keith Bott has led the Society of Independent Brewers as Chairman from 2002-2006 and is now President of the organisation.

Titanic Breweries have won numerous awards including CAMRA Bottle Conditioned Beer of the Year in 2004, and were in the top three in four consecutive years. The brewery has also won awards in the Champion Beer of Britain competition and were voted West Midlands beer of the year twice by CAMRA.
