CARTMEL LAUNCHES STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING IN NEW PACKAGING
According to the makers, thanks to Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding Company, the south Lakeland village of Cartmel is widely seen as the home of Sticky Toffee.
We are told that people come from far and wide to make a pilgrimage to the home of their favourite pudding. Their new brand celebrates the charming village of Cartmel and the Village Shop – both key to the success of the puddings.
The company turned to Big Fish – leading brand consultants – to design a brand that would help to reposition their puddings within the market. The company felt that, as their puddings gave people a feel good factor, it was only right that the brand should be more informative and have a cheery disposition too!
Charlotte White, Operations Manager says: “We hand picked Big Fish because we really liked their work. We felt that they would be able to bring a quirky feel to our new brand; after all, our puddings don’t taste like other puddings so why should they look like them?”
“We feel that Cartmel is a very special place. We’re proud of the village and it’s surroundings – and we wouldn’t have been as successful without our local staff, customers and suppliers”
“We have many loyal customers who have been enjoying our puddings for years, and we’re sure that our distinctive new look will attract a new wave of Cartmel pudding fans!”
“Although the packaging is new, underneath the sleeve, it is the same familiar range of sticky puddings. The puddings will always be handmade, 100% natural and with ingredients sourced locally where we can”
In order to underline their commitment to the village of Cartmel, the company would like more people to experience the charms of the village. They plan to hold a range of events at the village shop to celebrate the new brand launch, and these will be publicised on the company’s new website www.cartmelvillageshop.co.uk – this will be live towards the end of August.
Cartmel is also running its’ first on-pack promotion – on 390g Sticky Toffee Puddings – with a luxury long indulgent weekend in Cartmel being on offer for the lucky winner! There will be 100,000 promotional packs each with a unique reference number – which customers can check on our new website.
The company have also confirmed their on-going commitment to the independent retail sector. Apart from limited listings within Booths stores in the North West and Waitrose, the company plans to continue to develop the independent retail sector as the key market in the future.
The new brand will be officially launched at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair (Olympia, September 6-9), although retailers are likely to receive the newly branded packaging from mid-late August.
