WINONA’S ORGANIC LAUNCHES AMBIENT BAKING RANGE
Of almost 5,000 entries to the Great Taste Award 2009, Winona’s polenta, rosemary, fig and ginger Garden Cake won a 1-Star Gold award; and her Twisted Oats and Raisin fresh cookie dough and Midnight Chocolate Sin Torte bagged two of only 308 2-Star Gold awards.
Winona’s Fresh Organic are also launching a new ambient range of baking mixes through Ocado in September, just in time for National Baking week in October.
The Awards are considered to be the Oscars of the speciality food industry, and are awarded through blind tasting by over 300 top industry experts, chefs, restaurant critics and food retailers, who can clearly spot a winner.
“Winona’s is all about motherly love: children coming home to freshly-baked cookies.” Sophie Conran, Junior magazine
Winona’s Fresh Organic are also launching a new ambient range of baking mixes through Ocado, thus unleashing the sweet, comforting waft of home baking through your house at the swing of the store cupboard.
Convenience without compromising on quality has always been Winona’s mantra, in her evangelical bid to get the UK baking. And with that she has surely reached the zenith of her mission here.
“Great for gifts or your own enjoyment, Winona’s cookie, cake and loaf mixes make baking a fun, easy and mouth- watering triumph.” Spirit and Destiny
From the end of August, Cherry Sunrise Scone Mix, with polenta and dried cherries, a Dutch cocoa steeped Classic Cupcake Mix and California Poppy Shortcake Mix, with blue poppy seeds, will hit the Ocado website; alongside her slam-in-the-oven, wheat-free Midnight Chocolate Sin Torte and her legendary fresh cookie doughs: Cheery Cherry Chocolate Chip, Twisted Oats and Raisins and Grandma’s Ginger Buttons.
All three dry mixes feature Winona’s signature twist on traditional recipes and her commitment to high quality, carefully sourced, organic ingredients; all require a minimum of basic wet ingredients and all have a shelf life of up to a year. And you’ve all finally run out of excuses.
The launches are timed to coincide with both the Soil Association’s Organic Fortnight (5th to 20th September 2009) and National Baking Week (19th to 25th October 2009) creeping up on us. Now you can have your cake and eat it.
“This was great – lovely and easy to make, good ingredients and great flavour.” Raymond Blanc on Cheery Cherry Chocolate Chip cookie dough
