ULTIMATE FOOD COMPANY LAUNCHES THREE LUXURY AMBIENT PUDDINGS
The Ultimate Food Company (Kendal) Limited has been producing memorable puddings for 22 years and is well known for the Ultimate Plum Pudding – a Gold Great Taste Award winning Christmas Pudding – sold as a high quality gold wrapped retail pack OR as an own label product for individual retailers.
The company is launching 3 new sponge puddings at the Speciality and Fine Food Show: Triple Chocolate Pudding, Triple Ginger Pudding and Citrus Honey & Almond Pudding. These are indulgent, ambient puddings. The distinctive packaging (with illustrations by Christopher Wormell), immediately tells you that these puddings are not average puddings. Their creator – Carole Taylor – explains:
“I wanted to develop sophisticated, subtle steamed sponge puddings using traditional ingredients. The sponge is textured by adding fresh breadcrumbs and ground almonds to the recipe. Flavours come from the real thing – melted chocolate, stem ginger, fresh citrus zest not just powders and oils. These flavours are complimented by alcohols such as brandy, ginger wine, orange liqueur.
Carole continues: “They really don’t need special sauces. They are great served with crème fraiche, cream or a good quality Vanilla Ice cream. So they are a great standby. I’ve developed them to be perfect for Boxing Day, special occasions or as an indulgent treat…. And yes, they are worth the calories!”
The puddings will be of particular interest to retailers with limited chilled space. These puddings have between 4-6 months shelf life and their distinctive packaging makes them perfect gift / special occasion puddings – or, of course, maybe you don’t need an excuse to indulge!
Each 290g pudding serves 3-4. They are boxed in 12’s and have a suggested selling price of £4.99 – £5.49 each. Trade Price £3.15.
