TURKEY DAY 10TH NOVEMBER – PUT IT IN THE DIARY

July 2nd, 2009

We’re told that Totally Traditional Turkeys (with the Golden Promise quality mark) aren’t just any turkeys – they are loved by consumers across the country including Harrods, Selfridges and Lidgate of London. The American Ambassador to Great Britain is also partial to a Totally Traditional Turkey for his Thanksgiving Dinner each year.

These are organic, free-range and barn-reared turkeys, exclusively produced by a group of independent farmers who founded the TFTA (Traditional Farm-fresh Turkey
Association) in 1984, with over fifty members countrywide; they produce in excess of 165,000 turkeys each year specifically for the Christmas market.

These are top turkeys, cared and prepared to the highest standards so every aspect of the TFTA production methods contributes to the overall taste and quality achieved; they are grown to full maturity and fed high quality natural feeds. In December the turkeys are uniquely dry plucked and game hung for at least 7 days, according to tradition this contributes to their excellent texture and flavour.

The Totally Traditional Turkeys campaign will be launching its new website in July which will feature background information on the TFTA, caring and preparing your Christmas turkey, including a carving masterclass and turkey academy, nutritional information, turkey stockists and a selection of recipes produced by celebrity chef Rachel Green.

Turkey Day is Tuesday 10 November – details to follow
