TESCO LISTS SWEET FREEDOM 100% NATURAL SWEETENER

July 10th, 2009

Sweet Freedom, the first natural sweetener made 100% from fruit has just launched in 411 Tesco stores nationwide in the Free From section.

Already available across the UK via wholesalers in independent health food stores, Sweet Freedom was originally launched in Whole Foods in Kensington and has proved so popular that they now even offer as an alternative to sugar sachets in their restaurants and coffee outlets.

Co Founder Tina Michelucci says ‘Despite being made from 100% fruit the Sweetener (Mild) version actually tastes very neutral and sugar like, its perfect even in tea. The Syrup (Rich) is darker and is used more as a honey, maple syrup and golden syrup alternative, great on toast, porridge, pancakes and both are ideal for healthier cooking and baking.’

Sweet Freedom is a ‘foodie’ product with added health benefits appealing to the many consumers watching their weight, having 25% fewer calories than sugar and you can use up to 50% less. It also appeals to diabetics as it has a low GL and won’t unbalance blood sugar levels like sugar or honey. Another benefit is that unlike honey its vegan and is now registered with The Vegan Society.

Sweet Freedom is gaining an increasing number of recommendations in a wide range of press including The Daily Mail – Good Health ‘the first natural sweetener made 100% from fruit’ 2.6.09, Weightwatchers magazine, Fresh, Slim at Home, Zest, Cook Vegetarian, Marie Claire, Woman, My Weekly, Kindred Spirit, Slim at Home and many more.
