Glayva was developed in Scotland in the 1940s by Ronald Morrison, a famed whisky distiller, in the bustling port of Leith, Edinburgh, one of the busiest international seaports at the time. Inspired by the exotic imports he witnessed being unloaded each day, he resolved to create a distinctively different liqueur and so began mixing the finest whisky with exotic fruits and spices arriving in the dockyards.

It’s name originated from the Gaelic phrase ‘Glè mhaith’ meaning very good, it is an exotic fusion of the finest scotch malt whisky, a carefully selected range of spices, Mediterranean tangerines, cinnamon, almonds and honey.

At the 2008 International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) – the most prestigious awards in the wine and spirit industry – Glayva beat off tough competition to secure the ‘Best Liqueur’ trophy for a record 5th time.
