COVENT GARDEN AUCTIONS FRESHLY PREPARED GOURMET DISHES ON 30TH JULY

July 29th, 2009

On 30th July in keeping with foodie events around Britain, London’s famous Covent Garden Market will be host to a new kind of auction where dishes cooked by celeb chefs will be at the bidding of the assembled foodie orientated audience.

There once was a time when only tons of potatoes and sacks of kale would be knocked down to the highest bidder, but now the relentless trend of convenientisation means that this historic market will be host to an auction of freshly made gourmet meals.

The food will be made fresh rather than made off site and will include avocado and Dorset crab, rib-eye steak sandwich with red onion and rocket.

The starting bids will be 50p and will be created by the Too Many Cooks Team, led by Nick Deverille-Smith, Head Chef at Soho House club, and Jonny Chocolate from the double Michelin Starred Capital restaurant in Knightsbridge.

The freshly prepared dishes or lots will be auctioned off by professional hammer slammer Nick Carter.

The event will take place on the Piazza at Covent Garden on the 30th July.
