BART SPICES LAUNCH NINE NEW PRODUCTS
Bart Spices, the herb, spice and ingredients expert has recently launched 9 new products into their range. The new products include two spice blends and seven air-dried herbs and spices.
Zatar Spice Blend is of Middle Eastern origin and contains toasted sesame seeds, thyme and sumac.
berbere Spice Blend is a hot and fiery blend from Ethiopia and contains chilli, pepper, cumin and coriander.
These two editions to Bart’s spice blend range are available in stylish stainless steel tins.
The new air-dried selection includes Crushed Sumac, Chervil, Savory, Yellow Mustard Seeds, Celery Seeds, Lavender and Poppy Seeds.
Sumac starts life as a berry grown on shrubs in dry rocky conditions. When crushed the berries produce a deep, wine red coloured powder. Essential in Middle Eastern cooking, sumac gives a tangy, sweet and sour taste, although it is relatively mild, so you can be generous in your measurements. Ideal for adding a zesty flavour to dishes containing fish, meat and chicken, or sprinkled over salads it adds a grainy texture.
The 9 new editions to the Bart range will be available mid May in selected fine food retailers, Waitrose stores and online at bartspices.com
