HEINZ LAUNCHES NEW REDUCED SUGAR & SALT BEANZ SNAP POTS
Market leader Heinz today announced that it is adding a third addition to its ground-breaking Snap Pots range. Heinz Reduced Sugar & Salt Beanz Snap Pots will appear on shelves this month.
Following the success of the original Beanz Snap Pots, Heinz is introducing Reduced Sugar & Salt Beanz Snap Pots as part of its commitment to driving value in the beans category, while responding to consumer demand for lower sugar and salt choices. The product will follow the great taste of Heinz Beanz but with 30 per cent less sugar and 25 per cent less salt than the standard recipe.
Heinz Reduced Sugar and Salt Beanz Snap Pots packaging has been developed to ensure it has great stand out on shelf, with front of pack flashes highlighting the fact it contains no artificial sweeteners, is low in sugar, low in fat and high in fibre. The pack also demonstrates to health conscious consumers how it does not contain any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
“We are driving the healthy beans sector with our Heinz Reduced Sugar & Salt Beanz in cans and want to continue to grow it by offering consumers convenient packaging formats that meet their needs,” says Heinz Beanz Brand Manager, Lucy Cawkwell. “Combining health, convenience and taste, Heinz Reduced Sugar & Salt Beanz puts a tick in all the right boxes for our consumers.
“We know that beans are often eaten for lunch or for a light tea, when consumers are looking for a quick, healthy snack. Snap Pots therefore provide the perfect solution as they can easily be popped in a bag to take to work or taken out of the cupboard to create a meal in minutes.”
Heinz Reduced Sugar & Salt Beanz Snap Pots provide a portion for one in a quick, easy and convenient to open and heat format. Similar to multipacks in other categories, Heinz Snap Pots can be snapped into single 200g portions and heated in the microwave for one minute before being served.
“The Heinz Snap Pots popularity and success is plain to see,” continues Lucy Cawkwell. “Heinz Beanz Snap Pots have been an instant hit with consumers and we are committed to unlocking further growth in the beans category through innovation and a close understanding of consumers and their needs. We are confident that the Heinz Reduced Sugar & Salt Beanz Snap Pots variety will bring new consumers to the category, particularly those that are not currently frequent beans consumers, boosting incremental sales for retailers.”
Heinz is showing very strong category growth in the Beans Market and is driving continued growth through innovation. Heinz Beanz Snap Pots has generated over £18.9 million[1] of retail sales since launch and now account for 4.0 per cent value share of the Bean Accompaniments sector.
In addition to the new Heinz Reduced Sugar & Salt Beanz Snap Pots, Heinz is also introducing an improved recipe across its whole Reduced Sugar & Salt Beanz range, be it cans or the new Snap Pots format. The new recipe contains more tomatoes to improve the consumer enjoyment of the range. This is further evidence of Heinz’s commitment to continually improve its Beans portfolio.
