CONAGRA LAUNCHES NEW FREE-FROM FLOUR IN US.

June 16th, 2009

News from across the pond is that Conagra has cracked the problem of gluten free flour by turning to ancient grains as a source of inspiration.

According to bakeryandsnacks.com Conagra says its new flour is better on nutrition than rice, potato and corn flours and is made from ancient grains plus tapioca.

FreeFrom is now big business in the UK, where most retailers have specific free from categories and category managers. The UK has its own Free From specialist organisation which is foodsmatter.com

Ancient grains include amaranth, buckwheat, teff, millet, quinoia and sorghum.
