NATIONAL CUPPA DAY – WEDNESDAY 3RD JUNE

May 13th, 2009

Wednesday 3rd June will be National Cuppa Day and Tetley is supporting the Federation Of Wholesale Distributors National Independents Week by co-sponsoring together with McVities and Tate & Lyle.

Talking Retail reported that the National Independents’ week is a major component in the My Shop Is Your Shop campaign set up to talk up the contribution of convenience stores in rural areas.

On the 3rd independent stores will offer their customers a cup of tea and a biscuit to thank them for their patronage or to attract new shoppers.

To help with this Tetley is providing free tea at cash and carry outlets. The mechanic is for retailers to buy twelve for the price of eleven.

Simon Atfield, customer marketing controller for Tetley GB said “We are glad to have the opportunity to lend our support to independents through this initiative. Given the current economic climate events such as this are important to highlight the role of independents and their role in the local community,”
