KRAFT FOODS LAUNCHES MIKADO NEW SNACKS
Kraft Foods has launched a new chocolate biscuit snack specially designed for on-the-go snacking. Mikado is a sweet treat which offers consumers a great alternative to standard countlines which have tended to dominate
Mikado is an ultra-thin crunchy biscuit stick coated with smooth milk chocolate, one end of the stick being left uncoated to make on-the-go eating even easier. Two pack sizes are available: a 39g pack, containing 17 sticks and a 75g pack 33 sticks.
Packaging is said to be neat, convenient and highly portable being specifically designed for on-the-go consumption, with a ‘flip top’ opening. Full nutritional information is displayed on the pack to reassure customers that Mikado can fit into a balanced diet.
Ashley Neal Director of Sales at Kraft says:
‘The on-the-go biscuit snacking category is booming, and Mikado offers an opportunity to deliver incremental value growth in many out of home sectors including cafes and till points in coffee shops, on planes and trains, leisure sites and workplaces. Confectionery is no longer the only category to offer a sweet treat. Mikado offers a unique and delicious snack’.
The launch is being supported with a £3m marketing support programme from April including TV, outdoor and digital advertising. Wobblers are also available for Away from Home customers.
