MULLINS ICE CREAM TO SUPPLY DUBLIN’S GOURMET FOOD STORE

Mullin’s Ice Cream has won a contract to supply its pure dairy ice cream to Donnybrook Fair, Dublin’s gourmet food store.

The ice cream company, based at Kilrea, a rural community in County Derry in Northern Ireland says its luxury ice cream, made from milk sourced from local farms is being featured at the Donnybrook Fair shop in Greystones, which opened last autumn, and is the first outlet in the Republic to display the products under the colourful Mullin’s Ice Cream brand.  The ice cream, produced by the family-run business, is available in 500ml tubs.

For the foodservice and catering sector, Mullin’s is offering luxury, pure dairy ice cream in 4.75 litre tubs.  The Mullin’s brand is widely recognised and successful throughout Ireland.

Colm Mullin says “The Donnybrook Fair business is a significant breakthrough for a Northern Ireland company in the Republic, a target market for the firm.  It gives our brand a very strong presence in one of the most respected retailers in the Dublin area.  It is the first to use the Mullin branding and will help to raise our profile in the Republic”.

Mullin’s ice cream was founded in 1954 in Kilrea and is now produced there is a state-of-the-art manufacturing operation that maintains the home-made style of the company’s pure dairy ice cream using milk from the Mullin family’s 200-strong herd of Jersey cows.

As well as a vast range of ice creams, the company produces its own sorbets and speciality ice cream cake desserts.
