TV CHEFS TO BLAME FOR KITCHEN CATASTROPHES

March 11th, 2009

What about this … in some recent research commissioned by Dorot Garlic & Herbs it was reported that one in five people in the UK have had a cooking accident while trying to copy TV chefs from shows such as Saturday Kitchen and Something For The Weekend.

Celebrity cooking shows are making complex kitchen techniques look effortless, but off screen, chopping, baking, boiling and basting aren’t always as easy as the experts make out. A worrying 84% of these ambitious amateur chefs would still attempt complicated culinary techniques, risking injury to themselves and those around them.

According to The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), the kitchen is the second most hazardous place in the house, with 262,6051 mishaps take place in the kitchen each year.

Hygiene also seems to be a low priority with a grimy 42% of respondents not wiping down or preparing their kitchen before cooking.

We are told that Dorot has the perfect solution with their pre-portioned pop out cubes of herbs.   The company says they are available in six flavours including ginger, coriander, basil and parsley, the frozen cubes reduce mess in the kitchen and mean cumbersome tasks such as cutting, chopping or crushing are no longer required.

It is claimed that Dorot Garlic & Herbs provide the perfect option for aspiring chefs looking for ease and convenience without compromising on flavour or quality.
