OLOVES OLIVE SNACKS GETS FORMAT RIGHT
Oloves has collected a fourth award for its convenient pack. The Mercury Awards are presented by the ITCA to the best innovations in travel catering, and have been running for 27 years.
It’s the fourth award that’s been presented to Oloves – a new addition to the snacking market that’s a healthier alternative to crisps and nuts.
“Winning a Mercury Award is absolutely fantastic because it means that Oloves are the most inspiring and innovative product in travel catering,” said Hayley Whitham, director of Brand Stand Ltd, the company behind Oloves.
“Everyone involved in Oloves is delighted and proud that the product has been recognised as exceptional by those who work in catering on airlines, on the rail and at sea.”
Each pack of Oloves contains naturally tasty pitted green olives. Available in a liquid-free, no spills foil-fresh sachet, Oloves come in three different flavours…
• Tasty Mediterranean (green manzanilla olives marinaded in basil and garlic)
• Lemony Lover (green manzanilla olives with a tangy garlic and lemon zest for life)
• Light Hearted Vinaigrette (green manzanilla olives dressed with a delicious salt and vinegar taste)
They are on sale at Asda, in 100 W H Smith healthy snacking sections, and are served up on Eurostar. Oloves are to be stocked by airline Flybe from May 1st. Retail price is from 74p.
Oloves says the snacks, which make a perfect alternative to crisps or nuts, bagged their first award at 2007’s International Food Exhibition (IFE) for outstanding taste and innovative packaging.
Oloves were also recognised at the Anuga food exhibition in Cologne, Germany, in 2007.
2008 brought another honour for Oloves – an award for innovation presented at the world’s leading food and drink show, SIAL in Paris.
Now the product has won its fourth accolade after also impressing the international travel catering sector.
