DAIRY CREST AND YOPLAIT PART COMPANY
It was reported that Dairy Crest has sold its 49% stake in Yoplait Dairy Crest to it’s venture partner Yoplait. The sale marks the end of the project set up in 1991 and now allows Dairy Crest to focus on brands it owns outright.
just-food.com reported that Mark Allen, Chief Executive said the sale, which will give a one-off profit of £50m will give the company more breating room financially. “The sale substantially readuces group debt and provies us with more headroom under our banking arrangements”.
Dairy Crest has agreed to continue its distribution of Yoplait brands such as Frubes and Petits Filous for a year.
Yoplait, as a business, is owned by two organisation, one is the private equity firm PAI and the other is the French dairy co-op called Sodiall. They each have a 50% stake.
