BONE SUCKING SAUCE!
Connotations apart, surely Bone Sucking Sauce has to be one of the most arresting food product titles you could come across in mainstream UK fmcg? If you haven’t noticed this sauce yet, and I hadn’t, Mr Patrick Ford, a young businessman of the year, from North Carolina, was showing his eight or so barbecue products at IFE09.
With listings already in several of the UK major multiples his mission is to teach the Brits how to barbecue properly. Instead of incinerating the food we’re supposed to cook it “low and slow” and slatherings of his bone sucking sauce, used either as a marinade or a dressing, will result in a delicious and authentic Southern-style barbecue dish.
Mr Ford also makes a slop mop which, he says, “Puts fifteen inches between you and the grill, close enough to control the flavour, yet far enough away to save your eyebrows. Just dip your Slop Mop into a jar of Bone Suckin Sauce, and baste until you get the desired coating”.
Actually I tasted the Bone Sucking Sauce on some grilled chicken and it was very good indeed.
