WHICH MAGAZINE NAMES WAITROSE BRITAIN’S FAVOURITE SUPERMARKET
Waitrose has been voted Britain’s favourite shop for the second year running in the UK’s biggest survey of high street shops. The survey of over 14,000 shoppers, which is published by consumer magazine Which?, gave Waitrose top marks for its convenience, pleasant store environment, helpful staff and quality products.
John Lewis came second overall and was rated top in every sector in which it trades. It is the fourth year in succession that John Lewis and Waitrose, which together form the John Lewis Partnership, have claimed the top two spots.
Charlie Mayfield, Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, said: “This is a huge accolade for the John Lewis Partnership. I hope that all our employees, who as Partners own our business, will feel proud to see their efforts recognised in this way. It shows that Partners are committed to making our customers’ experience of shopping in Waitrose and John Lewis stand out from the crowd.”
Mark Price, Managing Director of Waitrose, said: “This is a fantastic result for all of our employees who, as Partners, co-own the business. Their dedication to providing the best customer service on a daily basis is the key factor driving our business forward. It is incredibly rewarding to have these efforts recognised by such a prestigious organisation as Which?”
