LONDON’S PARK ROYAL SPORTS ANOTHER FOOD INNOVATION
Here’s something new, catering and production scale kitchens that you can hire by the half day for trial runs and small batches. The company providing the service is called Olive Grows and it has won two local new business awards itself, but the main thrust is to help other businesses launch into the food industry.
The units are in Park Royal, which is rapidly becoming one of the world’s largest food business “parks” and also Battersea in South London.
The Olive Grows’ clients are mostly small food businesses producing highly creative, authentic food that is globally inspired. From warming stews and Caribbean meals to African snacks and nutritious drinks produced from the plants of the tropics. Their recipes are production methods are uncompromised, remaining true to their roots and (reportedly) they taste divine!
For new businesses, the facilities mean that they can present their products from professional premises that meet the standards required by the food industry. They can immediately target larger customers who would otherwise be out of their reach if they were producing from home. They can also avoid the risk of investing too early in their own unit.
For established businesses The Olive Grows facilities are a temporary, affordable production facility to help fulfil a growing order book until it becomes financially viable to invest in larger premises.
Olga Astaniotis, Co-Director says: “It’s exciting working with new entrepreneurs and growing firms because they are full of ideas and inspiration, and of course we get to taste their delicious creations! We support each other and share our challenges, ideas and contacts. It’s more than just a kitchen and winning these awards is fantastic because they endorse our business aspirations and give us the confidence to grow.”
Enzo Testa, Executive Managing Director of Archant London says: “The New Business/Start Up Category was stringently judged on the basis of business progression since start up within the last two years; The Olive Grows were judged Highly Commended having demonstrated a positive fulfillment on their business plan.
