The Food Standards Agency’s Advisory Committee on Novel Food and Novel Food Processes is holding an open event on novel foods in London on Wednesday 18 February, 2009. Anyone can attend, including members of the public.

The ACNFP is the independent group of experts that advise the Agency on any matters relating to novel foods (including genetically modified foods) and novel processes.

The meeting will give people an opportunity to discuss the work of the committee, levels of intake on novel foods and their labelling. There will also be a brief update on the revision of the current European Commission regulation on novel foods and an open discussion arising from audience questions.

The closing date for applying to attend the workshop is 2 February, 2009. Details of the event and how to apply to attend or submit questions can be found below.
