Selfridges launches beer crisps
Selfridges has launched new beer-flavoured crisps for those who do not want to go over the drink-driving limit without sacrificing the taste of a pint in the New Year.
Beer Chips, made from real beer and thick-cut kettle style crisps from potatoes, is said to allow lager lovers to still enjoy a drink with their mates without going over the legal drinking limit.
Selfridges Food & Restaurants Director Ewan Venters said: “Beer crisps are great for helping beer lovers who want to drink less in the New Year and for those who want the taste of real beer for less.
“We expect Beer Chips to be a really popular snack of choice for the New Year.”
Mr Venters added that with drink industry insiders predicting the price of a pint in pubs could hit £4 in 2009, the beer-flavoured crisps, at 99 pence per pack, were a good low-cost alternative.
