Rums do the business in Europe
Aged rums with a long and intense maturation process are used for two new offerings from fast-growing Dominican Republic rum brand Ron Brugal.
Brugal Anejo Reserva and Brugal Extra Viejo Reserva have been launched at the TFWA World Exhibition by the Edrington Group and Maxxium Global Travel Retail.
Both will be sold exclusively in the travel retail channel from January next year, and are aiming to build on the brand’s 73% share of its home market.
The Anejo Reserva is billed as having a bright, clean taste with a woody aroma and a slight hint of chocolate and caramel.
The Extra Viejo Reserva has a dark, transparent amber hue and an aroma of wood, dried fruits, almonds and a touch of spice.
Ron Brugal was founded in 1888 and claims to be the fastest-growing rum in Europe, particularly Spain, where it has increased sales by 61% in five years.
