Reduced fat Clover Lighter launched
Dairy Crest has launched Clover Lighter, a new reduced fat dairy spread.
As more people cut fatty products from their diets Dairy Crest has created a spread which it claims has the same buttery taste but with 30% less fat than the original Clover.
Clover Lighter is being sold as good way to lighten any food with half the saturated fat of butter and to get children to eat healthy by using the product in snacks and meals such as packed lunch sandwiches, crumpets and mashed potato.
The firm has published a selection of recipes on the Clover website of how to use this new alternative to kick start healthy eating at mealtimes. Suggestions include roasted butternut squash frittata with feta and spinach and seeded flapjacks.
