New vintage joins Cheddar range

November 25th, 2008

Dairy Crest, manufacturer of UK Cheddar brand Cathedral City, has launched a new type of the cheese: Cathedral City Vintage 20.

Branded as a luxury cheese for everyday consumption, the Vintage 20 is matured for 20 months to develop a full bodied, rich and creamy Cheddar flavour.

Developed using the expertise and high quality craftsmanship of the Cathedral City cheese graders, this vintage cheese was awarded a gold medal at last year’s World Cheese Awards.

Its stylish black packaging, which reflects the quality of the Vintage 20, will make it stand out from the other cheeses, but it maintains the familiarity of Cathedral City’s outstanding taste with an additional crunchy and flinty texture.

Cathedral City specialist cheese grader Mark Pitts-Tucker has seen this unique Cheddar through every stage of its recipe development and maturation, which has taken years to perfect.

Cathedral City Vintage 20 is available in Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose, with an RRP of £2.59 for a 200g pack.
