Milk consortium plans ad campaign

October 24th, 2008

The Milk Marketing Forum (MMF), a consortium of leading dairy brands, is planning a new advertising campaign to encourage people to drink more milk and to highlight its health benefits.

The organisation is also hoping that the move will help to attract additional funding from the European Union, which would be used to support dairy farmers’ incomes.

The MMF’s advertising was previously handled by Freud Communications, but the account has just been won by Mustoes following a pitch against M&C Saatchi, Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners and Scottish agency Merle.

Freud’s original brief was to produce a three-year campaign to promote the benefits of milk, that was also to be part-funded by the EU, but it never produced any work.

Milk advertising campaigns in the past have delivered some memorable slogans, such as the "gotta lotta bottle" catchphrase in the 1980s.
