Innovative food service expands
An online food ordering company based in Northern Ireland has gained a foothold in the competitive London market.
Nifty Nosh uses innovative web-based technology that allows consumers to quickly and securely place orders for delivery with local restaurants and takeaways registered with the site.
Backed by a £95,000 grant from Invest Northern Ireland, the company hopes to generate 90% of its turnover from outside the province within the next three years.
The funding includes assistance with research and development and will also allow for the creation of 22 new jobs within three years.
Invest NI spokesman Graham Davis said: "Starting as a small local company only last year, Nifty Nosh is already tapping into lucrative external markets in Great Britain.
"The company is building upon a simple, yet strong, business idea and taking advantage of the increasing consumer use of online ordering in many areas."
The firm’s managing director, Ciaran Lynch, commented: "My brother and I identified an opportunity to provide a food ordering service that is not only safer and more secure than conventional phone ordering, but also enables the customer to choose from a wide range of restaurants in their area, matched to them according to their postcode."
