Brothers scoop top food accolade

October 29th, 2008

Two brothers have capped their meteoric rise to business glory with a prestigious international accolade for their innovative food products.

Just three years after establishing a wholefood snack business in Worminghall, Oxfordshire, American brothers Jamie and Greg Combs have scooped a coveted honour at the SIAL food and drink exhibition in Paris and been named as an exclusive food supplier to the British Athletic Commission.

The rapid success of Natural Balance Foods can be attributed to an innovative scheme created by UK Trade & Investment called Passport to Export.

The initiative provided expert advice on targeting and understanding international customers. In the short time since they joined the scheme they are now exporting to eight European countries.

In the UK they have also made huge inroads by persuading a host of retailing giants to stock their food.

The company makes two brands of wholefood snacks – "Nakd" and "Trek", that won the top prize in the Trends & Innovation category at SIAL 2008.
