Briton develops Thai curry range

October 1st, 2008

A former schoolteacher from Britain is planning to import Thailand’s culinary delights to the UK.

Joe White, 26, has launched The Thai Curry Company and has developed a range of authentic Thai curries packaged in a kit form.

He said: "Thai food is so much better than it is portrayed in English supermarkets. I almost feel like suing manufacturers for their offerings of what they call ‘Thai cuisine’.

"I realised that the cuisine on offer in Thailand was not only fantastic but also simple to make. Many people think that ‘quick’ food must be of a poor standard, but actually real Thai food is very quick and easy as well as being very healthy and delicious."

Mr White said that he would use local produce in his recipes, which is something he feels is lacking in the current Thai food on sale at British supermarkets.

He added: "Because we source all the ingredients locally we are able to offer premium quality food but at an affordable price, offering the consumer great value for money. This is one way in which we like to think we differ from established kit meal producers whom are often viewed as being ‘cheap’ meals."
