New beef line to launch in Tesco

September 30th, 2008

A new line of Scotch Beef will hit the butchery counters of Tesco, confirming its ‘Finest’ credentials, and putting Aberdeenshire’s producers on the national stage.

The supermarket will launch its Tesco Finest Aberdeenshire Scotch Beef at more than 85 of its most upmarket stores this month.

The nationwide launch will be supported by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) with a sampling and brand ambassador tour of the participating stores, as well as the creation of bespoke point of sale material for the shops.

A series of 12 recipes will feature in stores throughout next year. The recipe cards will outline the guarantees about welfare and environmental standards customers get when buying Scotch Beef, and explain its coveted PGI status.

Marketing manager for QMS Suzie Carlaw said: "This launch highlights the qualities of branded Scotch Beef and confirms its place in the supermarkets’ premium offering.

"It is proof of the world class efforts by our farmers in creating a product that is positioned as the finest beef in the most upmarket Tesco stores, and should prove an excellent platform for people nationwide to savour the taste of some of the world’s best beef."
