Updated packaging to drive Argentinean wine

August 27th, 2008

New packaging is to be unveiled for an Argentinean wine brand.

Talking Retail reports that Pernod Ricard is seeking to expand the market for wines for the country by focussing its efforts on its Graffigna brand.

A screwcap format is to adopted, in a bid to preserve quality and consistency, while the new bottle will be revealed next month.

Wine director of Pernod Ricard’s UK operation Nick Blair said: “Argentina is now a priority market for us Â… and we have all the necessary experience and expertise in place to achieve our ambition of Graffigna becoming the UK’s number one Argentine wine.”

Already the company has experienced success in the UK through the Australian Jacob’s Creek brand, as well as Spain’s Campo Viejo.

Last month Talking Retail revealed that another Australian brand, Hardys, was introducing a new 250ml bottle featuring a built-in plastic glass.
