Two new sauces from Dolmio

August 17th, 2008

Pasta sauce manufacturer Dolmio has launched two new recipes for its children’s range.

Tomato and cheese sauce will be added to the My Dolmio line, as will tomato and pepperoni, Talking Retail reports.

The new introductions are part of a £500,000 back-to-school campaign that includes television advertising and in-store activities.

My Dolmio has seen sales of £1.5 million over the past year and the new flavours have proved popular with testing panels, said Wendy Wing, customer marketing manager of parent company Mars Foods.

“As a family favourite brand we recognise the importance of providing meal solutions that appeal to both adults and children,” she remarked.

The two new varieties bring the My Dolmio range up to five items – meatball bolognese, creamy tomato and pizza flavour microwavable sauces are already available.

Mars states the sauces contain one portion of the recommend five fruits and vegetables a day.

Also this month, Dolmio announced two new additions to its stir-in range to celebrate summer. Spicy tomato and sweet onion stir-in sauce will be added to the line, as will cherry tomato and pesto.
