Starbucks launches nutritious juice drink
Starbucks has announced the introduction of a new drink which provides at least one of the five recommended daily portions of fruit and vegetables.
The coffee specialist said a serving of its Vivanno blend also contains 16g of protein and less than 270 calories.
Senior nutritionist Katie Thomson explained that a simple list of ingredients had been used to meet demand for healthier options.
“We developed this beverage to help our customers get through their busy days by creating a proprietary whey protein and fibre powder that delivers the sustaining nourishment they’re looking for without interfering with the great taste,” she added.
The blend comes in banana chocolate and orange, mango and banana flavours. Released in the US today, it may follow in the company’s stores around the world.
Starbucks recently announced that it would close 600 of its outlets, leading to an expected 12,000 job losses.
