Sainsbury’s stocks new milk brand
Sainsbury’s is to stock moo one%, a long-life milk containing one per cent fat, from dairy processing firm Milk Link.
The new milk contains the same amount of calcium and vitamin B as ordinary semi-skimmed milk but has half the amount of, Talking Retail reports.
Senior brand manager Heather Coates says the flavour is also as good as regular milk.
It signals a step towards a healthier lifestyle for milk drinkers who may also need the convenience of a long-life product.
Milk Link, the manufacturer of the moo brand launched in 2004, said it listened to its customers who said they wanted the benefits of semi-skimmed milk but lower fat.
The moo range has eye-catching packaging and contains natural nutrition such as calcium, protein, minerals and vitamins.
In related dairy news, dairy product manufacturer Turkey Hill is to enrich a number of its dessert items with vitamin D, after the company discovered it aids the body in calcium absorption.
