Personalised packaging for limited edition whisky

August 27th, 2008

A new, limited edition whisky is to be available in personalised bottles, it has been reported.

Tullibardine is introducing a 1993 single malt scotch which will come in a bottle or a cask, according to just-drinks.com.

Both options can be personalised and the Highlands-based distillery said that casks will be allowed to mature for ten years before the whisky is bottled.

Those hoping to buy a cask, which the website reports will carry a price tag beginning at £1,000, can choose from a bourbon or a sherry barrel to hold their drink until the maturation process is complete.

Personalised bottles cost just under £30.

In related news, Balvenie Distillery recently announced that a limited edition single malt scotch would be added to its range next month.

The Balvenie Rum cask 17-year-old is first matured in traditional oak casks but then has a second maturation period in Jamaican rum casks.
