Penguin range extended

August 27th, 2008

United Biscuits has announced plans to revitalise the Penguin range, including the introduction of two brand new products.

Talking Retail reports that a twin pack snack stick and a baked chocolate bar are now available.

The former is in the shape of Penguin Big Stix, which are chocolate-covered biscuits containing chocolate chips, while the latter is a soft baked bar with a chocolate flavoured filling.

United Biscuits commercial manager Nick Stuart said: “Penguin has proven to be a tremendous success story in 2008 and these new innovations will fuel the growth of this brand even further generating more sales and profits for retailers.”

Each snack contains 25 per cent of a child’s recommended daily allowance of calcium and a greater amount of the mineral will also be used in the standard Penguin bar from later this year.

Last month United Biscuits announced plans to update packaging for the McVitie’s Cake Company range, drawing attention to its nutritional benefits.
