New tortillas from Hula Hoops

Hula Hoops has announced that it will enter the tortilla market with the introduction of a new range.

Tortilla Hula Hoops will be made from corn and sunflower oil and be available in several varieties, reports Talking Retail.

United Biscuits, which owns the brand, said that Mexican foods and flavours are “enjoying a renaissance” and that its new product will have a truly Mexican texture.

Commercial manager of United Biscuits Nick Stuart commented: “The addition of Tortilla Hula Hoops to the core range will generate additional profit opportunities for retailers who look to capitalise on the growing tortillas market.”

Nacho cheese flavour tortillas will come in a pack of six or as an assortment with chilli salsa and cool original varieties.

United Biscuits told the website the market for the snacks is currently worth £100 million. The company also owns the KP brand, which recently expanded its range with Baked & Seasoned Mixes.
