New bread for weight-conscious sandwich lovers
Warburtons has expanded its range of Weight Watchers products with a new white loaf.
The bread company has urged retailers to stock up upon the launch in August, according to Talking Retail, as the weight loss sector continues to grow in popularity.
Weight Watchers bread is targeted at those consumers who wish to lose weight without giving up foods they enjoy, particularly sandwiches.
“Consumers on weight management plans tell us that they would like to be able to eat quality, tasty food without having to compromise on taste,” said Warburtons category director Sarah Miskell.
Talking Retail reports the bakery weight loss sector as having grown by 17.7 per cent compared to last year. The thick sliced white loaf will have a recommended retail price of 93p when it goes on sale in August.
Other products in the Weight Watchers food range include breakfast cereals, salad dressings, crisps, bacon and pizza.
