More new Mexican products from Discovery

August 27th, 2008

A new salsa product has been launched by Discovery to encourage more consumption of Mexican foods.

The company cited research by TNS, which found that although the category is attracting fresh interest, the frequency at which both new and existing customers buy Mexican goods is not growing, Talking Retail reports.

Blending lime and tequila with traditional ingredients such as tomatoes, onions and jalapenos peppers, the latest salsa is intended to inspire sustained interest in the category.

According to head of marketing at Discovery James Bennett, the product “complements any meal or snack and we’re confident that it will have consumers coming back time and time again”.

Earlier this week the company announced the launch of new tacos, with Talking Retail quoting Mr Bennett as describing them as “innovative new products”.

The Discovery Taco Trays have a distinctive boat shaped designed to allow for both easy filling and eating.
