Marbran expands healthy crisps brand

August 22nd, 2008

Derbyshire-based Marbran has announced the introduction of five new flavours to its Crips range.

The brand produces potato crisps aimed at the healthy eating market, claiming its oven-baked snacks contain four times less fat than the traditional fried varieties.

Director of Marbran Gareth Smith said: “We are thrilled to have introduced our new range of Crips. We believe they bring something new to the table when it comes to guilt-free snacking.”

He added that the products contain no trans-fat, are suitable for vegetarians and do not include any artificial colours or preservatives.

The Food and Drink Forum had previously named Crips the recipient of its innovation award.

New flavours include natural sea salt, Thai sweet chilli, and mature cheddar cheese and spring onion.

Last month Kettle Chips announced that it was spicing up its crisps range by introducing a red Thai curry flavour, Talking Retail reported.
