Dolmio adds to stir-in range

August 2nd, 2008

Two new summer recipes have been launched by Dolmio.

Added to the stir-in cooking sauce range will be cherry tomato and pesto, and spicy tomato and sweet onion flavours, reports Talking Retail.

Mars, which owns the brand, says the products are aimed at those who want a light pasta snack with added “excitement”.

“The new recipes will add value to the sub-category by not only increasing penetration but by recruiting new users,” according to customer marketing manager Wendy Wing.

Nutritional information, including the fact that they contain no artificial colours or preservatives, will be displayed on the front of stir-in packs.

Dolmio claims its stir-in sauces account for eight of the top ten varieties in the category, bringing in £14.5 million every year.

The new recipes will be on sale in supermarkets and independent retailers this month.

Rival Italian sauce brand Sacla also launched a new product this week, in the form of a chilli and tomato paste.
