‘Brain food’ recipes launched

August 22nd, 2008

A new range of recipes has been launched by learndirect, aiming to improve the performance of the brain.

The online learning provider said that it created the meals because eating oily fish and fruit superfoods can boost thinking time and information retention.

Developed by nutritionist Fiona Hunter and TV chef Danny Boome, recipes for poached eggs as well as steak pitas are included.

Ms Hunter said: “If you feed your brain the right nutrients Â… you’ll see an improvement in your memory and problem-solving abilities.”

Mr Boome added that the recipes contain ingredients to “help kick start the brain”.

In all, 14 variants have been created and learndirect believes they provide an affordable, healthy option that can fit in with a busy lifestyle.

Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal recently developed a summer dessert recipe for Haagen-Dazs, using the brand’s limited edition raspberries and meringue ice cream.
